Yangrima
Ex-student Society (YESS) was established in 2000
and gained legal approval in 2003 as a non-government
and not-for-profit making organization. It is an
organization grown out of the spirit of alumnae
of Yangrima School situated in Helambu north of
Katmandu www.yangrima.org.
In the initial days, our aims were to build a platform
for ex-students of Yangrima to get together, inform
of the various scholarships and counsel to find
a right institution to the students of Yangrima
who come to Kathmandu for higher studies, and to
establish IT center. Later on, after the incident
of Yangrima School in 2001 and as we went on growing
in the city, we felt the need to extend our aims
and objectives. Today, YESS is successful in establishing
itself as an organization to provide a platform
for entire students of Helambu region to learn and
grow together. This means that YESS membership is
also discreetly released to non-Yangrima students
who believe in our vision. |
Vision:
YESS envisions a strong and united well-functioning
organization committed for educational development
in the wide range, thereby building the capacity
and confidence of its member to achieve our shared
goals on time supplemented with innovative ideas
to prosper in the global society. |
Mission:
The mission of YESS is to create a platform
of education to provide quality and higher education
for children in Helambu region, and one way to ensure
this is by reopening of Yangrima School. |
Root
and Aim:
Yangrima Ex-Students Society (YESS) was conceived
in 2000 after the first batch of SLC from Yangrima
arrived to Kathmandu to create a platform to inform
and counsel about the higher studies and scholarship
opportunities to future Yangrima graduates. During
the time, Yangrima School was running well and we
even had thought building YESS as a resource home
for Yangrima in the future. YESS would like to thank
Gopal Lama the founder of Yangrima School for taking
initiation in gathering ex-students and allowing
Yangrima School Office to be used as YESS meeting
centers for certain period of time until we established
one for ourselves. |
Principles:
YESS is basically guided by following
principles:
That we will always look back the way we have come
from.
That we combine our heart and mind to get the works
done
That we are more friends than members in the organization.
That we learn and grow locally and intermingle globally
That we will move fast and not leave anybody behind.
That no one of us can be stronger than all of us. |
