Happy New Year 2008...
Reopening of Yangrima School

News
Yangrima Trust:
In the latest development, the discussion that YESS led to support reopen Yangrima School has arrived to an agreement to form a Trust before anything. With this, it leaves the role of YESS milder as a supporter rather than our earlier speculation as taking up all the operational responsibility. From the latest discussions held along with Gopal Lama (The founder of Yangrima School) has suggested us of forming a Trust representational of all the stakeholders such as ex-students, ex-teachers, ex-administrators, representative from local management committee etc. As a result, at least three YESS members will have to represent on behalf of ex-yangrima students in this core body. The executive meeting has decided to propose Mr. Tashi Lama, Mr. Chesang Lama and Mr. Sonam Lama in accordance to their continuous effort and interest in helping YESS to coordinate in this regard for the time being. All of them were coordinators on Reopening of Yangrima School under present executive committee.
A separate committee formed to support Brenderup Hojskole:

To continue with our commitment to support the idea of Brenderup Hojskole (a partner organization of YESS) on cultural exchange program, a separate committee has been formed in order to take care after it. Initially, it was looked directly by the executive but as we have suffered certain legal barriers and more over to streamline this project with a better focus, a separate committee has been formed. Mr. Tashi Lama, Jimmy Lama, Nima Tshering Lama and Nima Lama (ex-brenderup student 2001) in this initial phase will hold the committee. They will have more meeting with the principal of the Brenderup Hojskole in February 2008 to build a better working understanding and to point out how these two organizations can increase its effectiveness to achieve our mutually supportive educational goal through this project.

A Mini-Secretarial Training at New Era Institute:

The Ex-Office Secretary of YESS, Ms. Diki Lama received a 6 weeks long free training on Mini-Secretarial at The New Era Institute. The New Era Institute had offered YESS this course on the occassion of SLC Graduates Congratulation Ceremony 2063.

YESS would like to thank the entire family of New Era Institute for offering us this course and we look forward towards continued support in the future.
