This
world has been constantly concentrating to reduce
the gaps it holds and to make it a comfortable place
to live, however much of the effort has been to
no avail. Here in this remote corner of the world
is trying hard to connect and communicate with the
world outside to facilitate in achieving for the
long term the better understanding of our life and
contributing to create an opportunity for children
to come out of darkness through the avenue of education.
This is our call and call to Reopen Yangrima School
in a beautiful and remote Nepal. |

| Education
is the foundation and gateway to every success
|
| Reopening
of Yangrima School has been the much-awaited project
for Yangrima Ex-Students Society (YESS). In these
years, there were no days that YESS did not think
of this project. We have grown up with different ideas
about this project. It was a terrible feeling for
us in the beginning years to live with fact that Yangrima
School was not in operation, when we could hear many
of our friends talk about their School. For anybody
who spent their precious childhood or their good number
of years in Yangrima School -for some students stretching
up to 11 years- the fall-down of Yangrima School was
an unbearably painful. The incident had hit many people
associated with Yangrima School a great loss. Students
lost their School, principal/teachers lost their job
and dedication, villagers lost their environment,
and founders lost their many years of struggle and
hard work, supporters lost their effort and the whole
region lost an eyeball of education. All who benefited
were the animals who could now use the building facility
after the evacuation of the students and the teachers,
or some people who were animal-like (insanity) of
their misdeed to destroy the School. |
Finally
there is a hope that the School will reestablish
in the light of the political rest. Yangrima Ex-Students
Society is all geared up to support with our fullest
effort and commitment to rebuild the School, so
that hundreds of children who are deprived of education
due to financial hardship will have access to a
good school. In order for this, we have discussed
over several different ideas and model how to run
the reestablished School in the context of present
situation. And one that convinces us to a greater
extent is by inviting local representatives from
several villages who matters to join to form a management
committee to give guidelines and directives, and
protect School from any future bad luck. |

Currently
we are working towards the date of coming academic
session by Nepali Calendar that is mid-April 2008
to start operating the School. Prior to this, there
are several things needed to be done. As accorded
by our Model to Reopen Yangrima School, the most important
is to form a local committee in each of the local
Schools where Yangrima School Management Committee
will closely work together. In this regard, each of
the interested local Schools will receive a suitable
support from the Yangrima School and Helambu Education
Trust in terms of receiving additional teachers/volunteers
if needed, infrastructural support, educational material
support etc. After this an all-stake meeting will
be organized to agree upon to build a MoU between
Yangrima School and its partner Schools and to form
an executive committee of Yangrima School Management
Committee. This will be all done through the active
support of the current ad hoc Yangrima School Management
Committee. Please check this site back in end of the
October this year to review the list of partners of
Yangrima School. In our informal survey, we have found
at least 7 Schools who we should cooperate with and
also meaning that to whom we should allocate support
to initiate to help raise their local standard of
education as being partners.
